Twinsburg girls win Austintown District Track Meet edging Boardman girls 128 to 117.25. On the boys side the tables were turned; Boardman boys defeated Twinsburg boys 155 to 116.
Corey Linsley broke a 29 year old district record when he threw the shot put 63' 1.5". The previous record was held by Ron Yarab 1980 0f 61'11.75"

Tallmadge girls, Alliance Marlington boys win Salem Division 2 District Titles
Tallmadge girls score 87 points West Branch is runner up with 84 points
Marlington scores 105.33 points in win Salem boys 2nd with 91.50 points
FROM SEMI-FINALS THURSDAY: With a strong anchor leg by Tina Oprean Canton Central Catholic girls won the 4 x 800 meter relay in a time of 9:54.95. Marlington with an equally impressive anchor leg by Jarrod Eick won the boys 4 x 800 relay in 8:11.42. Other winners today were Victoria Bates of Hanoverton United in the girls shot put (37' 7.75", Amanda Bennett in the high jump (5' 4") , Miles Eaglowski in the pole vault (12' 6"), Tony Armstron of Niles McKinley in the long jump (20' 4.5") and Gary Allen of Ravenna Southeast in the boys discus (151').
RECORDS BROKEN: Cardinal Mooney girls 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 relay teams - K. Jerek, E. Andino-Esparra, N. Neshite and A. Williams broke both meet records in those events. They clocked 49.57 in the 4 x 100 and 1:44.52 IN THE 4 X 200. They should be a force to contend with at the State Meet.
SATURDAY: Taylor Kring set a record in the 100Hurdles at 14.96. Salem boys set a district record in the 4 x 100 meter relay at 1:29.30. Cardinal Mooney boys set another meet record in the 4 x 100 meter relay at 42.60. Poland's Sean Murphy and Mike Kurjan went 1-2 in the boys 800 meter run with clockings of 1:58.80 and 1:59.78 respectively. Tina Oprean of Canton Central Catholic doubled with wins in the 1600 (5:08.87) and the 3200 (11:40.18. Jarrod Eick of Marlington was also a double winner today with wins in the 1600 (4:24.09 and the 3200 (9:59.36). Victoria Bates won both the shot put and discus with throws of 125' 4" in the discus and 37' 7.75" in the shot put. Amanda Bennett of Tallmadge was also a double winner taking the girls high jump 5' 4" and the long jump 16' 6.75" Good luck to all of the advancing athletes to the Ravenna Regional next week.
