2009 Optimist Meet

29^th Optimist Meet sets three meet records, One Stadium and a State Division Three State record.

Falcon Stadium’s outstanding track and field facility site of the States Division I Northeast Regional meet delivered.

          This years meet featured the Girls Division one state champions (Beaumont). Division two state champion Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy, Division three state champion Gilmour Academy. The Boys had Division two state runner-up Gilmour Academy.

Michael Brajdic-Soph. Bay Village pulled 7 runners under 9:33 in the 3200 to win in 9:27.02. Abby Koch-Stow-Monroe Falls won her 3200 in 10:56.51 to edge defending Division two state champion Katie Gillispie-CVCA in 11:00.19. Glenoak girls 4x800 set a meet record 9:31.24. Glenoak’s boys won the 4x800 in 7:57.64 edging Wadsworth 7:57.98

Candace Longino-Thomas Gilmour won the 100 in 12.13 and set a meet and D-3 state record in the 200 in 24.19  wind 0.8. Bryce Pully-Cuyahoga Falls-won the 1600 in 4:23.52 with Zach Goulet –Hoover at 4:23.75. Nicole Pachol-Howland led six runners under 47.00 in the 300 Lh with a time of  44.17.

Katie Betts-Stow won the 800 in 2:15.94 beating Bekka Simko-Gilmour 2:16.31. Cory Lanterman-Streetsboro 200 21.96 wind 0.6. Warrensville girls 4x400 3:59.26 Johvonnie Mosley-Mcdonald won the girls discus 142’2”.

Leon Jakob-Crestview set a meet and tied the stadium  High Jump record  at 6’11”. State D-I pole Vault champion Ahbe Kelsie-Green set a meet record at 12’0” with Sarah Rasnick-CVCA second at 11’6”
